Topic: Amazon Rainforest Crisis Alert - Peru.

Description: Peruvian protestesters have been murdered by the dozens for attempting to save the Amazon rainforest from oil drilling and logging deforestation!

The Government of Peru has backed-down slightly after a forceful United States/World activism campaign, that is still in progress and just beginning to apply adequate pressure on these Human Rights offenders!!!

The following is a campaign letter with a take action link, followed by current event news and C2NN News Alerts :

Title: “Horrifying Things are Happening in Peru’s Rainforests!”

Message: In the past several days, the Peruvian government has murdered dozens of Indigenous protesters who tried to unite in peaceful protest against oil expansion in their forests!

Peru’s President, Alan Garcia, says that in order to meet its Free Trade Agreement responsibilities to the United States Peru must prioritize the demands of international resource exploitation even as they undermine the land rights of Peru’s Indigenous peoples.

And so far the US has been silent.

You can change that. Act now and tell Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the US needs take a stand and formally demand that Peru end the violence now.

In 2008, President Garcia created 99 laws designed to open up Peru’s lands to multinational corporations for oil and gas exploration by executive order, bypassing Peru’s Congress and any debate in Peru’s democratic government.

While the Peruvian Congress reviews whether these executive orders are constitutional, tens of thousands of Indigenous peoples have been peacefully marching and blockading to prevent the rainforests they depend on from being exploited.

Then, several days ago, the violent crackdown began.

In Bagua Grande, 1,400km north of Lima, several thousand Indigenous peoples were forcibly dispersed by tear gas and real bullets, killing dozens of Indigenous protesters.

Just yesterday, the Congress announced a suspension of two of the 99 laws, but Indigenous leaders have signaled that their peaceful protests will continue until all the laws are completely revoked.

Now more than ever, the Peruvian people need us to stand in solidarity.

With just one click you can send a fax to Secretary of State Clinton and demand that the United States condemn this violence.

The US Government must take a stand and formally demand that Peru recognize the rights of Indigenous peoples, repeal the questionable laws, and institute a democratic process to ensure that rights are respected and safety is restored.

Please, join me today in calling on Secretary of State Clinton to denounce this violent crackdown on peaceful protest in the name of free trade.

* Tell Secretary of State Clinton to denounce Peru’s violent crackdown in the Amazon!

My Personal Comment:

The Big Industry Power Moguls are using “poverty versus the ‘higher standard of living’ promise” against the Amazon native people, as they are and have been corrupting the innocent worldwide!!!

What Big Industry does, is first pass legislation to make things tougher on any indigenous native people, and create whatever pressure necessary to make those targeted people become more desperate!

Example: Restrict Trade Agreements . . .etc., and this is always done prior to Big Industry moving into the targeted area!

Then next, Big Industry sends in polished specialists that are supremely paid well ($$$) to make contact with the indigenous natives, and gives a presentation of films and slide-shows — a regular CEO presentation of the highest caliber, in order to show the natives what they could be having — to become great like them — show them what they are missing!!!

And finally the recruitment drive begins, this brings in all able-body paid slaves to work and become employed by the ‘Big Project’ with the ‘Big Promise’.

But then, the native people of these targeted regions realize, that their homes, lands and very environmental existence is being wiped-out, polluted and stripped of life.

Usually after all this, when Big Industry can’t extract another drop of oil, trees or whatever they seek, they then just LEAVE and move on to the next prepared targeted area!

No real and true compensation — only complete moral and environmental devastation is left behind in their wake!!!

This is a 24/7/365 industry of subtrefuge and deceit, with levels of extraordinary planning, that leads directly back to every national president, dictator or king (queen) having full knowledge of and giving their full blessing to this procedure!

They have become empowered by our need for toilet paper, writing paper, gasoline, toothpicks, petroleum plastics and a host of endless modern ‘necessities’ of the ‘higher standard of living’; which will ultimately lead to:

======== EXTINCTION ========

THIS IS THE PRICE OF COMFORT FOR TODAY!!!
